Fruits Basket To Become A Hollywood Live-action Movie

I don't know if anyone has seen this, but anyway:

"A popular Shōjo manga titled Fruits Basket is currently under the planning stages of becoming a live-action Hollywood movie. The movie would be produced by Joshua Long from 1212 Entertainment, he’s known for his work on the Cowboy Bebop movie with Keanu Reeves.

Beyond that, not much information was released but one of the officials from ULTIMO SPALPEEN shared some additional information on twitter. They wrote, “The Fruit Basket movie is planned to be more realistic than the manga/anime version. So the scenes where Toru (main character) sleeping in the tent in volume 1 will not be used in the movie scene.”

Fruit Basket is written by Natsuki Takaya. It was serialized in the Japanese manga magazine titled Hana to Yume and published a total of 23 volumes of manga. It was also created as animation and a drama CD."

Why not give us more anime? conclude what they started with some new episodes or even a movie??

There are just some stories that don't belong as live-action. Furuba is one of them. How the hell are they planning to show transformations if they won't do something as simple as her living in a tent?

We all saw what Hollywood did to Dragon Ball Z. I fear that this Furuba movie will be just like that. Use the characters names and the story will have NOTHING to do with the Furuba series. I mean they won't show her living in a tent?! Why!!!!! u-u;;; I fear for Natuski-sama and her beautiful work.

And for what it's worth, living in a tent when you're homeless is not unrealistic. This director has clearly never, ever met someone who's been without a place to go.

Kinda hard to make it 'more realistic' are they going to get rid of the zodiac curse then? I find it hard to believe that the tent scenes is too unrealistic but the zodiac curse wouldn't be ?

Wonder how far they'll cover it?

Although in listening to the webcast from Anime News Network I have lost a bit of my enthusiasm, besides the fact that someone needs to teach that man how to say "manga" it seems like he's not too familiar with the story "when the little girl turns into this hug ox" ... lol wut?
